Dear future Mommy, it’s me, your baby.
I haven’t even met you yet, but I know I drive you crazy.
I won’t even pretend to know, all you’re going through.
But every single place you go, know that I can hear you.
If I can ask a favor, please, for my sake,
Don’t tell me anymore, that I am a mistake.
I believe that I am more, I believe that I’m a keeper.
The truth of the matter is, I couldn’t love you deeper.
Am I a life? Is that your question?
Even unplanned parenthood, begins at conception!
If your heart stops beating, it means that you die,
But my beating heart, doesn’t mean I’m alive?
Maybe you think that, you’re doing me a favor,
Because you don’t have as much money, or support as your neighbor.
But I would rather eat plain toast every morning, and plain rice every night,
Than never know what hunger is, or take one single bite.
Maybe the doctors told you, that something is wrong with me,
But as long as I can breathe, I can be happy.
It doesn’t matter if I can run, or even if I can walk.
It doesn’t matter if I can sing, or even if I can talk.
It only matters that I have a chance, to crack my first smile.
Just give me an opportunity, to make my life worthwhile.
I know what you’re thinking. “My body, my choice.”
But I know you’d feel differently, if you could hear my voice.
Your warmth is all I know, in my little heartbeat.
That is until the day, that our eyes finally meet.
I’ll tell you how I love you, and thank you for being brave.
You’ll be a hero, for the life that you save.
If after hearing this plea, you don’t want me still…
Carry me a few more months, I know that someone will.
