Lyrics written by Darlene Celeste Beal
Verse 1: MLK had a dream, and I do too, I’m carrying his message from the old to the new. He dreamed of peace and justice, powered by love, A vision sent down from the heavens above.
Chorus: I don’t cap, but I captivate, Speaking words of life, not death, or hate. We heard his speech, so we won’t wait, To make things right—it’s not too late. Free at last, free at last, Let’s leave the bad vibes in the past. The arc of the universe bends toward what’s just, Let’s fight for all, not simply “Just Us.”
The Dream will continue
Verse 2:
MLK said a stone of hope, like David’s sling,
Now Every year, we shout, “Let freedom ring!”
We want justice now, not justice denied,
We all bleed the same—tell the racists they lied.
Judge by character, not by skin,
When we do that, we all begin to win.
Verse 3:
Remember the dream, not just the dreamer,
We can’t let it die, or the grass won’t be greener.
Clean up our words, clean up our land,
Clean up our lives, it’s time to take a stand.
Let the content we create eliminate hate,
And our character be the next legacy to celebrate.
We’ll rise up, stand tall, and refuse to be small—
Unity and love, will conquer it all.
The Dream will continue
Outro:
Free at last, free at last,
Let’s leave the bad vibes in the past.
“bad vibes in the past.”
The arc of the universe bends toward what’s just,
Let’s fight for all, not simply “Just Us.”
Let the content we create eliminate hate,
And our character be the next legacy to celebrate.
We’ll rise up, stand tall, and refuse to be small—
In unity and love, we’ll conquer it all.
The Dream will continue
